Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before booking.
Answers to what clients typically ask before getting in touch.
- How quickly can you actually get here if my furnace dies at night or on a weekend?
- For emergency calls, Denny typically arrives within an hour, including on weekends. That is not a marketing phrase. Customers in Allison Park have had heat restored the same evening they called, including on negative-degree nights. If you call and describe an emergency, you will get a realistic arrival time on that same call.
- How do I know you won't just tell me I need a whole new system when I probably just need a repair?
- The diagnosis comes first, and the explanation comes with it. Denny will show you what failed, tell you why it failed, and give you the honest picture on whether a repair makes financial sense given the age and condition of the unit. If a repair will hold for several more years, that is what gets recommended. Replacement only comes up when the numbers genuinely point that direction.
- What will this actually cost me, including parts, labor, and any trip fees?
- The total cost is explained before any work begins. There are no surprise charges added after the job is done. Parts, labor, and any applicable fees are laid out clearly so you can make an informed decision. Free estimates are provided for installations and replacements.
- Are you licensed and insured to do this work in Pennsylvania?
- Yes. Seasons Heating and Cooling is licensed and insured, and work that requires permits is handled properly. You will not be left with a failed inspection or a liability gap because corners were cut.
- Can you work on my existing furnace brand, or will you push me toward replacing it with something specific?
- Denny works on all major furnace and AC brands and is not tied to any single manufacturer. Equipment recommendations, when they come up, are based on what fits your home, your existing setup, and your budget, not on what carries the highest margin.
- Will you explain what is wrong with my system, or just fix it and hand me a bill?
- Every visit includes a clear explanation of what was found and what was done. If a part failed, you will see it. If the issue was a control or sensor problem, Denny walks through what caused it and what was corrected. The goal is that you understand your system better after the visit than you did before.
- Do you offer any kind of maintenance plan so I am not caught off guard by another breakdown?
- Annual tune-ups and maintenance visits are available and are the most reliable way to catch small issues before they become emergency repairs. A seasonal inspection covers the heat exchanger, burners, blower, electrical connections, and overall system performance. Call to ask about scheduling a tune-up before the first hard freeze or ahead of summer.
- Can you install a smart thermostat and make sure it works correctly with my system?
- Yes. Smart thermostat installation, including WiFi-connected models like Nest and similar units, is part of the service offered during AC and furnace work. Wiring compatibility is checked before installation, and setup and basic operation are covered before the visit ends.
- How long will a full installation take, and will I be without heat or AC the entire time?
- Most full furnace or AC replacements are completed in a single day. Denny will give you a realistic time estimate when the work is scheduled so you can plan around it. The priority is minimizing the window between removing the old system and having the new one running and tested.
- Do you handle ductwork, or is it strictly the heating and cooling equipment itself?
- Ductwork assessment and modifications connected to a furnace or AC installation are part of what Seasons handles. If your existing ductwork needs adjustment to work properly with a new system, that is addressed as part of the job rather than handed off to someone else.
